Yes. This is the official announcement for DREXELDANCE 7! Below you will find all the information you need for the greatest annual party in the history of annual parties. For those who are new, DrexelDance is party dressed up like a film festival. It’s an excuse for people to shoot their own films, gather, drink, and screen. You can choose to come as a guest or a filmmaker, but either way you’re gonna have fun.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

DATE: August 8th, 2015

PARTY TIME: 7:00p.m.
MOVIE SCREENING TIME: 9:00p.m.

We will be screening the films in the backyard under the stars, drive-in movie style!
– Bring a blanket to sit on the grass!
– We’ll have some booze, but feel free to bring more!
– Dress in retro sci-fi garbs…whatever that means to you…or don’t.

THIS YEAR’S THEME:

Every year we have a new theme or genre. This year we’re bringing back the height of the drive-in movie culture with – RETRO SCIENCE FICTION!

FILMMAKERS SECTION (required for all filmmakers)

Making a movie for DrexelDance is the most important decision of your life. It earns you friends, respect, and neither of those two things. We have a lot of DrexelDance regulars, but each year we also gain new voices to add to the fun! You do not have to be a writer, director, editor or any part of the film industry to enter. In fact, you can have little to no talent and your film will still screen, as long as you follow the rules, you’re accepted! Please read everything below, as it is important information. Not reading or following the rules can lead to your hard work being rejected.

RULES:
1. Your short film can be no longer than 5 minutes.
2. Your film must keep with the theme (Retro Science Fiction)
3. You must submit your film by the deadline in a Quick Time format – and under 1GB.
4. You may not submit a movie you have already made (must be for the fest)
5. You must follow the yearly “special DrexelDance rule”

SPECIAL RULE:
Product placement! We will be providing a label for you to print out and attach to a bottle of your choosing. This bottle can be an alcohol bottle, juice bottle, or soda pop bottle. There will be 3 labels to choose from: DrexelBox Rum, DrexelBox Juice, and DrexelBox Pop. Choose the one that fits best with your scene and make sure it makes an appearance. It can be a big part of your short or simply in the background of a shot…but make sure it’s visible at some point. Label’s will be ready for download very soon.
